1. JES Tunnelsymposium
The JES Tunnelsymposium is the tunnel conference for operating staff, planners and contractors in Austria.
Our 1st symposium took place on May 07 and 08, 2015 at the Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Bad Leonfelden. Over 80 participants from Austria, Germany and Switzerland made our event a big success. Interesting presentations and discussions showed current developments and offered a panel for exchange of experiences.
The highlight was an excursion to the largest Austrian tunnel project of the past years. The Mühlviertler Schnellstraße S10 connects the Mühlviertel to Linz and is essential for the development of the political districts of Freistadt and Urfahr-Umgebung. Internationally the economy in the Upper Austria profits from a better connection to Southern Bohemia and the Baltic region.
The section Unterweitersdorf – Freistadt Nord of the S10 is under construction since 2009 and will be opened for traffic at the end of 2015. The route leads through 4 bore and 4 cut-and-cover tunnels adding up to a length of approximately 9,300 m underground.
