West Ring Road Freising opened
On Monday, January 10, 2022, at around 5:25 p.m., the new west ring road at Freising near Munich (Capital of Bavaria) was opened for traffic. The release took place by commissioning and opening of the ‘Vöttinger Tunnel’. The section with a total length of 3560 meters connects Thalhauser Strasse (State Road 2084) / Weihenstephaner Ring with State Road 2350 / FS 44. The district of Vötting is driven under in a tunnel (length 705m).
Due to the pandemic, the ‘Open Day’ event for the opening of the tunnel could not take place and was replaced by a visual journey in the internet (see video above). After more than six years of construction, interested parties could be given some exciting insights and impressions, at least by moving images of drone shots and tracking shots. The tunnel was completed at the end of 2021 with the associated extensive safety and emergency drills.
In order to guarantee tunnelsafety during ongoing operation in the upcoming years, the monitoring devices of JES company will again ensure this. – The following devices are responsible for the continuous monitoring of air quality and visibility:
- smart/AQM Air Quality Monitor for the combined monitoring of visibility and pollutant gases
- t/LUM Luminance meter
- t/FL-US Air Flow monitoring system – ultrasonic cross section
- t/SIG Traffic signal controller
